I’ve compiled a list of the most frequent questions that I receive. It’s normal and encouraged for patients to ask many questions when choosing to work with a licensed Psychologist. If you can’t find what you are looking for, please get in touch.
WHAT SHOULD MY FIRST STEPS BE?
Therapy can be a difficult process to begin. A phone call or email to me is a great first step. We will chat about what is bringing you to therapy and, if we both feel this is a good fit, I will gather demographic information and we will schedule the first appointment.
WHAT AGES AND ISSUES DO YOU TREAT?
I work with children (starting at 5-years-old), teenagers, and adults and I have clinical interests in treating anxiety and mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, behavioral difficulties, grief, and relationship and family discord.
WHAT INSURANCES DO YOU TAKE?
I accept the following insurances: Aetna, AmeriHealth Caritas Delaware, Cigna, Highmark Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Health Options, TriCare/Humana, United Healthcare.
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION LAST?
A therapeutic hour is considered to be 53 minutes long.
HOW LONG SHOULD I EXPECT TO BE IN THERAPY?
That depends! Therapy is in individualized process and there is no set timeline. It can depend on the presenting problem, your goal(s) for therapy, and your progress along the way.
HOW DO I GET AROUND THAT TRAIN?!
The nearby train can sometimes be problematic. Here are some ways to avoid the train or get around it, if you find yourself stuck.

To avoid the train:
From I95:
Take Exit 5B to merge onto DE-141 N toward Newport
Take Exit 6A-6B toward Newark/Lancaster
Keep right at the fork to continue on Exit B
Follow signs for Newark/Lancaster/DE-2W/DE-41 N and merge onto DE-2 W
Make a left onto Newport Gap Pike (just past the McDonald’s, on your left)
Our building is on the right, just before the train tracks

From DE-141 S:
Make a slight right toward DE-41 N (signs for DE-41/DE-2/Kirkwood Hwy/Centerville Rd/Delaware Park)
Continue onto DE-41 N
Turn left at Centerville Road
Turn right at Old Capitol Trail (the first light)
Turn left on to Newport Gap Pike
Our building is on the right, just before the train tracks

If you’re stuck at the train:
Take a left onto Woodward Avenue and proceed past Del Castle Technical High School
Take a right onto Newport Road
Follow Newport Road and turn right on Old Capitol Trail Road
Follow Old Capitol Trail Road and turn right on Newport Gap Pike.
